Code of Conduct & Rules...
Post a reply announcing that you have read and agree to our rules.
Code of Conduct
• Respect Your Guild Members – You are required to treat other members of the guild with respect. How you actually feel about them is not relevant, but your behavior is. Feel free to interact with anyone outside of the guild however you like, as long as it doesn't violate any of the guild rules. Offensive remarks will not be tolerated.
• Disruptive Behavior – An excessive amount of complaining, non-constructive criticism, arguing within the guild, etc., may result in removal from the guild. This does not mean that members can never complain, criticize or argue. The keyword here is "excessive", meaning that it reaches the point where it affects guild cohesiveness. Any guild member that engages in excessively disruptive behavior will receive a cautionary warning first, and if that behavior continues, they may be booted from the guild.
• There will be NO bad talk about Tribal Law. This includes conversations in guild chat, zone chat and whispers.
• If a member has an issue with another member, bring the issue up with an Officer or Rose.
• Guild First - We are a group of friends. Backing up your guildmates is expected because they will do the same for you. Tribal Law members should understand that sometimes personal character sacrifice is needed for a guild group to complete a mission. We don’t view it as personal sacrifice, however, because we are helping out a friend and that is more important than loot or pixels on a screen. Games come and go, friends & family stay forever.
• Members should not use cheats or exploits.
• Upholding of all guild values and rules is required of all members.
• Make friends in the guild. At our core we are a group of friends. So make friends. Those friendships make us strong.
• Personal attacks on other members are not permitted. Handle issues with another player 1 on 1, in a mature professional way. Seek an Officer for help if needed but do not personally attack other members.
• Backstabbing, looting, stealing from, scamming or otherwise harming other members is not permitted. It all goes back to our core value that we are a group of friends, a family.
• If a member asks for help and you are able to help, please do so. This applies even, more so if the member has helped you previously. Unless you are in the middle of a bad quest, assisting another member or in an instance, members should not be too busy to help other members. If you can help a member but are in the middle of something kindly offer your help with informing the member that you will be a few minutes.
• Officers - Leadership roles in Tribal Law are based on demonstrated ability as well as the need for an officer in a particular area. You can be assured that your officers are working hard to make the game more fun for you. If you feel an officer made an error in his/her decision, then they should be reported to Rose where they will be dealt with and if needed, changes made. Absent those changes, all officers should be listened to as though it was Rose giving the decision.
• If a guild official asks you to do something, then you should comply if at all possible. Do not argue, complain, or get nasty with them. If there is a repeated occurrence of disrespect towards officers, players’ removal from Tribal Law may be considered.
• Recruitment – For recruitment an applicant must be eighteen years of age or older. A prospective member is one that we see who has potential of carrying the Tribal Law name respectfully and understanding what we are about, and understands our rules and code of conduct. A prospective member is one that is observed as helpful, friendly, and either a good player, or one that is eager to learn. An invitation to Tribal Law does not secure membership. First blood need to adjust new members’ ranks to Trial member until Rose or an Officer sees that they are fit to be promoted.
Guild Conduct
The Guild Conduct goes hand in hand with our guild rules but they bear repeating so all future members understand what we expect from members. Those standards of conduct include, but are not limited to:
1. Members should not use cheats or exploits.
2. Members should not kill other players in order to grief them. Consensual pvp is permitted and a fun aspect of the guild in some games.
3. Upholding of all guild values and rules is required of all members.
4. Members should behave in a mature, professional, and guild focused manner. Self focused, loot focused, immature people will not be tolerated.
5. Make friends in the guild. At our core we are a group of friends. So make friends. Those friendships make us strong.
6. Any issues with guild policies should be brought directly to a guild official of the game you are in.
7. Bashing or complaining about things guild related in public is not tolerated. This includes guild chat, forums, party chat or whisper.
8. Personal attacks on other members is not permitted. Handle issues with another player 1 on 1, in a mature professional way. Seek an Officer for help if needed but do not personally attack other members.
9. Backstabbing, looting, stealing from, scamming or otherwise harming other members is not permitted. It all goes back to our core value that we are a group of friends.
10. Profanity, sexual content, and/or obscene content should be held in check in guild channels in game, or our forums. There is a forum thread set aside for this,"use it". Sometimes those things might be seen/heard, but try to keep it NC17 at least. It is always a good idea to know your audience when discussing a particular topic and the use of your language.
11. If a guild official asks you to do something, then you should comply if at all possible. Do not argue, complain, or get nasty with them. Removal will most likely happen. Then you can explain to Rose why you had to behave that way and should be let back in.
12. Following our few simple rules is not a maybe, but a "must!" If you wish to remain a member of our community.
13. RESPECT all members.[b]
